The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Telangana unit has launched a mass outreach campaign for the Jubilee Hills byelection with top leaders, including party president N. Ramchander Rao, Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman, and others taking to the streets to directly appeal to the citizens on Tuesday.
Mr. Rao expressed criticized the poor civic conditions in Jubilee Hills, stating that despite its name, the constituency suffers from severe infrastructure issues. He blamed both the previous BRS government and the current Congress administration for neglecting basic amenities such as roads and drainage.
“During rains, roads become unusable and sewage overflows onto the streets. Septic tanks spill over, causing health issues among children,” he said, citing complaints from local residents. He emphasized that the BJP is the only viable alternative and the byelection presents an opportunity to reshape Telangana’s political landscape.
The BJP leader urged voters to support party candidate Lankala Deepak Reddy, highlighting his credibility and the potential for development through Mr. Kishan Reddy’s representation of the Secunderabad parliamentary constituency, which includes Jubilee Hills.
The ‘secret alliance’ between Congress and AIMIM, undermines Hyderabad’s development and promotes unethical political practices, he maintained and pledged to resolve key issues in the constituency, including drainage and drinking water problems, and promised protection from land encroachments and criminal elements. Senior leaders P. Muralidhar Rao, A. Maheshwar Reddy and others also joined the campaign.
