BJP State president Rajeev Chandrasekhar has said that the electoral battle in Nilambur is between the BJP candidate and the INDIA alliance. “There is only one candidate who speaks of development. That is BJP’s Mohan George,” he said.

Describing the candidates of the United Democratic Front (UDF), the Left Democratic Front (LDF), the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and P.V. Anvar as part of the INDIA alliance, Mr. Chandrasekhar said that the people of Nilambur had only two options: either to vote for Narendra Modi politics or INDIA alliance politics.

Inaugurating a BJP convention at Nilambur on Thursday, Union Minister of State for Tourism, Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi alleged that the Nilambur byelection was an outcome of the internal power struggle within INDIA alliance. He said the people of Nilambur would teach the alliance a lesson by electing Mr. George.

He said that electing Mr. George would ensure that Narendra Modi’s development would reach Nilambur. Mr. Gopi claimed to have received support from both CPI(M) and Congress families when he contested the Lok Sabha election in Thrissur. He said Mr. George also would get the votes of the LDF and UDF.
