BJP names star campaigners; PM, CMs in list

The BJP on Thursday (October 16, 2025) released a list of 40 star campaigners, featuring top leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party chief J.P. Nadda, and Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh ahead of Bihar Assembly elections.

The list features a mix of prominent leaders and celebrities. It includes five Chief Ministers, including Assam’s Himanta Biswa Sarma, Delhi’s Rekha Gupta, and Maharashtra’s Devendra Fadnavis. Bhojpuri film actors Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, both MPs, and Pawan Singh were also named.

Mr. Shah reached Patna on Thursday on a three-day visit to strategise for the Bihar election. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also started his campaign from Darbhanga and addressed public meetings in support of the NDA candidates.

The polling for the 243-seat Bihar Assembly is scheduled to take place on November 6 and November 11, and votes will be counted on November 14.

The last date to file nominations for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections is October 17, while that for the second phase is October 20.
