BJP slams SP MP Javed Ali Khan over “poisoned society” remark

Lucknow: The BJP on Monday attacked the Samajwadi Party over its MP Javed Ali Khan’s statement that the BJP’s politics has “poisoned” society and made a section of the majority community “toxic.

Speaking during a visit to Moradabad, Khan alleged that BJP’s politics had a lasting impact on social relations and communal harmony across the country.“BJP ke failaye hue zehar ko bahusankhyak samaj nigalta ja raha hai... zehrila ho gaya hai...,” he can be heard saying in a viral video.Stressing that the social fabric of the country has changed significantly in recent years, Khan said that the trust among communities has weakened and that the atmosphere of mutual understanding that once existed has gradually eroded.The remarks triggered strong reactions from the BJP.Union minister Giriraj Singh said, “Whether it is Javed Ali or Akhilesh Yadav, their statement that Hindus have become ‘poisonous’ is wrong. Hindus are seen as ‘poisonous’ only by those who have become extremist or are anti-national.”He said Ali is making such statements with the backing of Akhilesh Yadav, who will face the consequences of this in the state elections.UP Cabinet minister Anil Rajbhar said that Javed Ali’s remarks do not merely reflect his personal views but represent the mindset of the Samajwadi Party.

too criticised Javed Ali’s statement, asserting that SP has consistently engaged in the politics of caste and communalism, whereas Sanatan Dharma advocates for human welfare and inclusivity.Congress MP Imran Masood too criticised Khan’s statement, insisting that the “majority” of the people in Hinduism were “sweet” and “lovable.”
