Three BJP candidates Tarun Chugh, Rajneesh Agrawal and Mahesh Kewat are elected unopposed to Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh after Meenakshi Natrajan nomination is cancelled

Meenakshi Natrajan
Three BJP candidates from Madhya Pradesh were elected to the Rajya Sabha unopposed on Thursday, days after Congress leader Meenakshi Natrajan’s nomination was cancelled by the Returning Officer.
Elections were due for three Rajya Sabha seats from Madhya Pradesh on June 18. Based on BJP’s strength in the 230-member Assembly, the victory of Tarun Chugh and Rajneesh Agrawal was almost confirmed. But the BJP fielded Mahesh Kewat against Natrajan for the third seat.
The deadline for withdrawal of nominations expired today at 3 PM.
Natrajan’s nomination cancellation paved the way for the BJP to secure all three seats.
Kewat had raised his complaint to the Returning Officer, alleging that Natarajan deliberately failed to disclose details of a case registered against her in Telangana.
