Fans of Black Clover have exciting news to look forward to. On July 3, 2025, leaks from Weekly Shonen Jump (Issue #32) confirmed that the TV anime sequel is officially in production.
The announcement revealed a powerful new visual featuring Asta in his Devil Union form, along with refreshed character designs for both Asta and Liebe soon to be released in a promotional video. Additionally, a special promotional video is set to be released soon on official platforms. With the anime’s return now confirmed, anticipation is building for what promises to be an action-packed continuation of the beloved series after a four-year hiatus.
Black Clover sequel officially enters production after 2021
The leak confirms that the Black Clover anime, which originally aired 170 episodes between 2017 and 2021, will return with a new sequel series. At the bottom of the magazine page, two QR codes were spotted—one linking to the official Black Clover anime website and the other to the Shonen Jump YouTube channel.
According to the leak, a special promotional video will be released around Monday, July 7, 2025, the official date of the magazine's publication. While the video was not yet live at the time of the leak, it is expected to provide fans with behind-the-scenes updates on the production and possibly a teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel.
When could the anime Black Clover return?
Given that production has now begun, it is likely that the anime will return within the next 18 to 24 months. If this timeline holds, Black Clover may return sometime in late 2026, which would be approximately five years after the original anime concluded in March 2021. This is a typical production window for high-quality sequel series, especially when studios are investing in upgraded visuals and tighter storytelling.
With over 170 anime episodes, a feature film (Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King), and multiple OVAs, the series continues to expand its universe. Also Read | Blue Lock Chapter 310 release date and time revealed: Check where to read this Japanese manga online
