To celebrate 50 years of the BMW 3 Series,

BMW India

has just launched special ‘50 Jahre’ editions of the 3 Series Long Wheelbase and the M340i. Both models are produced locally at the company’s plant in Chennai, with availability capped at just 50 units each of the 330Li and M340i. The limited-run models can be booked exclusively through BMW’s online shop. Customers purchasing the BMW M340i ‘50 Jahre’ Edition will also receive a 1:18 scale model of the iconic BMW 3.0 CSL.

‘50 Jahre’ Edition is priced at Rs 64 lakh, while the BMW M340i ‘50 Jahre’ Edition is available at Rs 79.6 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom). The BMW 330Li M Sport ‘50 Jahre’ Edition is offered in three colour options - Mineral White, Skyscraper Grey, and M Carbon Black and comes with Leather Vernasca Cognac, Black upholstery. The M340i ‘50 Jahre’ Edition is offered in Dravit Grey, Black Sapphire, Fire Red Metallic, and Arctic Race Blue. Inside, it gets Leather Vernasca Black upholstery accented with exclusive M highlights.

BMW 330Li M Sport ‘50 Jahre’ EditionLaunched in India in 2021, the BMW 3 Series Long Wheelbase ‘50 Jahre’ Edition of the 330Li M Sport features cosmetic and equipment upgrades. On the exterior, the edition adopts the M High-Gloss Shadowline package, with the kidney grille, window surrounds, rear diffuser, and tailpipes finished in high-gloss black. Inside, it receives carbon-fibre trim, a BMW Head-up Display, and 3D Augmented View navigation. A laser-engraved artwork with a unique ‘1/50’ badge on the B-pillar highlights its exclusivity.

The front fascia retains BMW’s hallmark kidney grille and twin circular headlights, complemented by Adaptive LED projectors with cornering functions. Moving inside, it features a 14.9-inch BMW Curved Display infotainment system, a 12.3-inch all-digital instrument cluster, tri-zone automatic climate control, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, wireless phone charging, digital key, electrically adjustable seats with extendable thigh support, a flat-bottomed M leather steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, and more. The BMW 330Li M Sport ‘50 Jahre’ Edition continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 258 hp and 400 Nm of torque. It comes paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and the car sprints from 0–100 km/h in 6.2 seconds.BMW M340i ‘50 Jahre’ EditionLaunched back in 2021, the BMW M340i continues to hold its title as the fastest locally produced ICE car in India. It is also the country’s highest-selling performance model, with over 1,000 units delivered to date. The new ‘50 Jahre’ Edition brings exclusive design touches to both the exterior and interior. It gets a laser-engraved artwork with a ‘1/50’ insignia on the B-pillar and the edition also carries ‘50 Jahre’ emblems at the front and rear, bespoke hubcaps, and M and M340i badges finished in high-gloss black. Buyers will also receive a special M Performance key fob.

Other exterior highlights include a wide stance, mesh-style black kidney grille, and Adaptive LED headlights with blue accents and M Lights Shadowline treatment, gloss black M-style mirror caps, a body-coloured rear spoiler, trapezoidal tailpipes, and an M aerodynamics package. On the sides, it gets 19-inch Jet Black alloy wheels in 995M design, with red M Sport brake callipers.Moving inside, it features sport seats upholstered in Black Vernasca leather with M highlights and a steering wheel with a red noon centre marker and paddle shifters. Other interior highlights include carbon-fibre trim, an anthracite headliner, and M High-Gloss Shadowline elements. Features-wise wise it gets a 14.9-inch curved central display, a 12.3-inch digital driver display, a BMW Head-up Display, ambient lighting, three-zone automatic climate control, front and rear parking sensors, 464 Watts Harman Kardon sound system and more.

The M340i is the quickest BMW to be produced in the country and the quickest ICE-powered car to be built in India.

It continues to get a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six, petrol engine which puts out 374bhp of power and 500Nm, it comes paired with an 8-speed gearbox which sends power to all four wheels. It has claimed a 0-100kmph time is 4.4 seconds, making it the quickest BMW to be produced in the country and the quickest ICE-powered car to be built in India.
