BoA targeted by slanderous messages as graffiti pops up in Seoul
In the heart of the city in Central Seoul, graffiti and posters filled with slander and hateful messages have been popping up against BoA, as per Koreaboo. Digital pillars and billboards are being used to spread hate for the artist and have been observed in various parts of the city recently. On June 10, many posts surfaced online about the slander-filled messages and how a/share of posters have popped up against the idol, sending the online community into a frenzy. One observer shared a photo of the billboard with the caption, “On the way from Gangnam Station to Sinnonhyeon Station, I saw a lot of graffiti cursing BoA on billboard columns — there were so many. This is shocking. Isn’t this property damage?”Another fan showed sadness over the matter and stated, “I'm so angry I'm crying. What on earth did I do so wrong? “What right do these crazy guys have to do this?”
Fans and netizens call for action against the billboards
As soon as the posts went viral online, fans of the artist started calling for immediate action to be taken.
Many commented on how CCTVs should be used to catch the people who did this and cited that this is nothing short of property damage and defamation.Many also called for BoA’s management agency to take strict action against whoever did this and to punish them accordingly as required. The idol has been targeted multiple times over the past years. Last year, the artist announced that she would be taking full-blown legal action against any slanderous and malicious content that may be shared against her.
