Bodies of six teenagers who drowned in Godavari recovered

After a massive search operation by personnel of the State Disaster Response Force and the local swimmers that began at dawn and ended at 11.30 a.m. on Sunday resulted in the recovery of the bodies of six youngsters, who drowned in the Godavari River. They were reported to have drowned at Medigadda barrage in Mahadevpur mandal of Jayashankar Bhupalpally district on Saturday evening.

A trip that ended in tragedy for a group of seven teenagers, including two siblings, as six of them drowned in the Godavari when they entered the river for a swim on Saturday. The teenagers came to the site in an autorickshaw after attending a wedding at their relative’s house along with their family members in Ambatpally.

According to the police, the deceased were identified as Patti Madhusudhan, 20, his brother Patti Shivamanoj, 16, T. Rakshit, 13, and K. Sagar, 17, of Ambatpally village in Mahadevpur mandal, and B. Ramcharan, 18, of Korlakunta, and P. Rahul of Stambampalli village in Mahamutharam mandal.
