Indore: Body of a 16-year-old girl missing since Sunday evening from Sanjeet town in Mandsaur district was recovered from a local pond on Monday afternoon following a joint rescue operation by local divers and state disaster forces.The minor, identified as Chetana, had left her home at approximately 5pm on Sunday. When she failed to return, his family initiated a search and discovered his slippers abandoned near the edge of the pond close to Sanjeet bus stand.Nahargarh police launched a search operation on Sunday evening with local divers. The State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) was subsequently brought in, conducting a search until 10:30 pm when low visibility forced them to suspend operations.The joint rescue team resumed operations on Monday morning. Divers recovered the body at 12:15 pm after an intensive search. The Nahargarh police have taken custody of the body and sent it for a postmortem examination. An investigation was underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the drowning.
