Body of student who went missing in sea at Puthenthoppu recovered

The body of the second student who went missing in the sea at Puthenthoppu was recovered on Tuesday.

According to the police, the body of Nabeel, a Plus One student, was found near the South Thumba beach, close to the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC). Local fishermen recovered the body and brought it ashore.

The Thumba police arrived at the scene and shifted the body to the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital.

Nabeel and another student, Abhijith, were swept away by strong currents while swimming in the sea. Abhijith’s body was recovered on Monday morning.

The incident occurred around 5.30 p.m. on August 31 when a group of five youths from Kaniyapuram entered the sea at Puthenthoppu for a swim.
