Bokaro DC Orders Comprehensive Audit of Blood Banks to Curb Unethical Practices

Bokaro: DC Ajay Nath Jha on Wednesday ordered detailed audit of all blood banks and report in five days.The list of recognised private and govt hospitals should be prominently displayed at all blood banks and professional donors be identified and listed to curb unethical practices and enhance transparency, he added.Jha said, “All blood banks have been directed to strictly follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and a full audit within five days. The audit reports are to be submitted to the district administration and the department.”DC Jha said, “Inspection of blood banks, including Sadar Hospital, Red Cross Bokaro, Bokaro General Hospital, and KM Memorial Hospital has been conducted.”Upon noticing irregularities at the Red Cross Blood Bank, the DC appointed Dr Maithili as its new in-charge.
