A bomb threat was received at Vice President CP Radhakrishnan’s Chennai residence, prompting a police inspection. Authorities later confirmed the threat appeared to be a hoax.

A bomb threat was received at the Chennai residence of Vice President CP Radhakrishnan. However, the police later said that the threat appeared to be a hoax.
The threat email was received at the Poes Garden residence of the Vice President and was received by the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Police in Chennai.
As soon as the information was received, a team of the police and experts from the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), along with a sniffer dog was rushed to the Vice President’s house and a thorough check was undertaken.
“The threat appears to be a hoax," news agency PTI quoted a police official as saying.
The Chennai police have been receiving scores of such email threats for the past month, and efforts were on to trace the sender.
