'Border 2' is all set to bring back the spirit of patriotism with a fresh cast and powerful story. The film has been in the news for Diljit Dosanjh's presence in it. FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) had banned Diljit from working in the film after the release of his film 'Sardaar ji 3' which had Hania Aamir.
He was then given permission to shoot the film but the non-co-operation movement against him from the federation continues.
And now here's a big update regarding the shoot of 'Border 2'. The lead cast members - Varun Dhawan, Diljit, Ahan Shetty, along with the OG Sunny Deol are shooting for a song at the moment in Pune.
Song Shoot Update
According to a report in Mid-day, the actors shot a high energy cadet tone song at the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune. This set was shot for three days, from July 1 to July 3, 2025.
What makes this even more special is that it marks the first time all four actors will be seen together on screen in army uniforms.
About the Song
The track has been labelled as an energetic cadet anthem with filled with enthusiasm and brotherhood. The song depicts the transformation of young men who are training to become Indian Army officers. The song music is given by veteran music composer Anu Malik, while Ganesh Acharya is behind the choreography. The song is quite grand as the team included more than 200 background dancers dressed in drill uniforms, creating the atmosphere of a large-scale military celebration.
In the song, Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty are shown as young cadets who are still in training, representing their early journey before becoming army officers. Sunny Deol, who played a leading role in the original 'Border' (1997), is also part of this scene. Apart from the group performance, he also filmed action scenes at the same location.'Border 2' is directed by Anurag Singh and is one of the most awaited sequels in Bollywood.The film is scheduled for release in theatres on January 23, 2026, just ahead of Republic Day, making its patriotic theme even more meaningful.The original 'Border' was a blockbuster and remains one of the most patriotic and emotional films in Indian history.
