Brazil To Play South Korea, Japan In Exhibition Encounters In October

Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil are slated to play South Korea and Japan on the 10th and 14th of October in preparation for the upcoming FIFA 2026 World Cup.

The Brazilian National Football Team is slated to play a couple of international friendlies in South Korea and Japan in the month of October in preparation for the upcoming FIFA 2026 World Cup.

Under the stewardship of head coach Carlo Ancelotti, Brazil, who are in a quest to pick up their record-extending sixth World Cup title, are billed as one of the favourites for the sporting spectacle in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The 66,000-capacity Seoul World Cup Stadium will host the Brazil vs South Korea game on the 10th of October 10, per the Korea Football Association. South Korean superstar Heung-Min Son will spearhead the hosts challenge against the most decorated nation in the history of the sport.

Brazil last visited South Korea for a friendly in June 2022, ahead of the Qatar World Cup, and defeated the hosts 5-1 with Neymar scoring twice from the penalty spot.

Ancelotti’s squad will then head to Japan to play another exhibition against the Blue Samurai at the Tokyo Stadium, which has a capacity of just under 50,000, on October 14, as announced by the Japanese FA. Neymar scored from the spot again as Brazil won 1-0 in the Japanese capital in June 2022.

The 33-year-old Neymar has not worn the Brazil jersey for nearly two years due to recurring injuries and was not included in Ancelotti’s latest squad, but is expected to feature in the Italian’s plans for the quadrennial spectacle in North America next year.
