Trae Young will be making his debut for the Washington Wizards on Thursday against the Utah Jazz. Ahead of his debut, a shocking decision was announced on Monday during the game between the Wizards and the Houston Rockets.

Trae was ejected even before he played a game for the team. He has 0 playing minutes with the team.Trae was quick to respond to the ejection. He posted on X about how he would always stand up for his teammates. Trae vows to bring back the same energy and competitiveness on the court when he debuts for the Wizards and in all future games. The 27-year-old athlete was traded to the Wizards from the Atlanta Hawks on January 9, 2026.

However, due to knee and quad injuries, the athlete could not play for the team yet.

Trae Young issues a strong statement after being ejected ahead of his Washington Wizards debut on Thursday

On Monday, during the game between the Washington Wizards and the Houston Rockets, a heated altercation took place between Tari Eason and Jamir Watkins. Eason shoved Jamir on the ground as the Rockets tried to bring the ball up the court during the third quarter. The shove was sudden and uncalled for. Immediately, Trae ran into the court.

He was not in his uniform. Trae started complaining to the officials and tried to defend his teammate, Watkins.

Following the series of events, Trae was ejected from the game without even playing in it. Watkins received a technical foul. Reflecting on the decision, Trae posted on X immediately.

He wrote, “Don’t expect me to get ejected too many more times D.C.” followed by a laughing emoji. Trae further confirmed that the energy and competitiveness shall remain the same.

He added, “But I’m definitely bringing that energy & competitiveness when I’m back for my brothers!” He ended the post with a heart made with hands emoji. Trae seems to be really eager to come back to the court. Especially for his new team, the Wizards.

Trae Young got traded to the Washington Wizards on January 9, 2026. However, his injuries have sidelined him for a long time now and have stopped him from making his Wizards’ debut to date. The athlete was suffering from MCL and quad injuries. He was scheduled to make his debut this week during the game against the Utah Jazz on Thursday.
