BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has demanded that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy offer a public apology for his “total failure in governance” as his administration has neither honoured its promises nor continued the welfare and development schemes of the previous government.

Speaking at a meeting at his family’s farmhouse at Erravelli near Gajwel to admit some constituency-level leaders of Banswada on Friday, Mr. Rama Rao recalled that the Supreme Court had issued clear directions on disqualification of defectors, but there was no action yet.

Stating that ‘inaction’ of the Speaker’s office would not stop the process, he said it was now inevitable that byelections would be held sooner than later in constituencies represented by legislators who defected from BRS to Congress.

“BRS is ready to approach the SC again, if necessary. We will fight until justice is done and Pocharam Srinivas Reddy loses his Assembly membership. Banswada voters will ensure his defeat in the upcoming bypolls,” he said.

Stating that the Congress Government had lost people’s trust in just 21 months, he said widespread resentment had built up across Telangana with citizens disillusioned by broken promises and lack of delivery. “Instead of focusing on governance, the Chief Minister spends his time targeting former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao repeatedly.

Referring to the State’s financial position, Mr. Rama Rao said the Congress Government had borrowed more than ₹2.20 lakh crore in just 21 months. “The previous BRS government borrowed a total of ₹2.80 lakh crore during its entire tenure to implement flagship welfare schemes and major development projects,” he noted.

On the fertilizer (urea) crisis, Mr. Rama Rao accused the Congress Government of deliberately engineering a shortage of urea. He claimed that the motive behind restricting supply was to deny farmers the procurement of crops and to evade the responsibility of paying bonus. “This is not merely inefficiency, it is a calculated conspiracy”, he alleged.

Party leaders Bajireddy Goverdhan, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, K.R. Suresh Reddy, and Nama Nageswara Rao, were present.
