HYDERABAD: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy Wednesday hit out at the KCR family, urging them not to drag him into their "internal family dispute" which, he alleged, stemmed from differences over sharing the "money looted during nearly a decade of the previous BRS govt.
"Speaking at an event of SGD Corning Technologies Private Ltd at Vemula in Moosapet mandal of his native Mahbubnagar district, Revanth said he was a leader committed to serving the people, not a participant in what he described as the "dirty trash and useless group" of the KCR family. "I will always be in the front to lead the party and work for the welfare of the people, especially the poor. I will never be a part of a dirty trash," the CM declared.Later in the day, while participating in house-warming ceremonies of Indiramma houses in Aswaraopet constituency of the combined Khammam district, Revanth again targeted the BRS leadership. Addressing a public meeting, he reiterated that he had no role in the feud between Kavitha on one side and Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar on the other.
Their sins are catching up with them and they are paying for it. They tried to finish off opposition parties and leaders by foisting false cases, but now they have drawn knives against each other,” Revanth said.
He added that “nature has its own way of punishing people for their sins,” predicting that the BRS would collapse due to its internal family battles. He likened the party to a demonetised Rs 1,000 note “which has no value.”Without naming K Chandrasekhar Rao directly, Revanth accused the former CM of ‘looting’ over Rs 1 lakh crore public money and distributing the spoils in the form of farmhouses, bungalows, money, TV channels and newspapers to his children and family members. “Despite this, they could not find happiness and peace,” he said, contrasting it with the joy he witnessed among poor women moving into Indiramma houses.“I could see the happiness in the eyes of those mothers, the same happiness I saw when I did gruha pravesam in my own Jubilee Hills house,” he said, adding that the families were relieved that their children were now eating quality rice, “the same rice eaten in my house and in housing minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s house.”Revanth alleged that disputes over the ‘loot money’ had now pushed the KCR family members into turning against each other.“In the 2023 assembly election itself, the people of Telangana killed the venomous black cobra (Kala Nagu—BRS). There is no need for me to kill a dead serpent again,” he said.
