HYDERABAD

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has demanded that the Election Commission take up comprehensive inquiry into the addition of 23,000 votes in the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency, deletion of another 12,000 votes since the last [2024] Lok Sabha elections and delete all duplicate and bogus/fake votes.

Speaking at the party office in Hyderabad on Tuesday (October 14, 2025), working president of the party K.T. Rama Rao said the addition of 23,000 votes in less than two years was raising suspicion. When the Congress party candidate — for the byelection in the constituency — Naveen Yadav’s brother Venkat Praveen Yadav himself had three votes, how the conduct of byelection would be free and fair, he sought to know.

Enquiries by BRS activists of the constituency in addresses where enrolment of a large number of votes was noticed, had revealed that those living in those addresses had expressed ignorance as to how so many votes were enrolled on their addresses. Mr. Rama Rao demanded action against all those officials who were responsible for the irregularities in the voter lists of the constituency.

He said that the BRS would move the High Court on Wednesday (October 15, 2025) since the Election Commission had failed to respond to their complaint even 24 hours after formal filing of the representation.
