The Internet is flooded with congratulatory posts and the reason? Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei has announced that he is set to embrace fatherhood soon. He shared the super amazing news via a post on Instagram, confirming that he and his wife, Princess Anisha Rosnah are expecting their first child.

Mateen, son of the Sultan of Brunei, shared a black-and-white photograph that shows him and his wife holding hands on a balcony. Twinning in white outfits, the couple looks all joyous and excited as Princess Anisha is also seen cradling her baby bump as Mateen gazes at her with so much affection in his eyes. “And then there were 3," the Prince of Brunei wrote in the caption of the post.

Soon after the post went viral, Internet couldn’t keep calm and showered blessings on the couple via sweet and touching reactions in the comment section. Interestingly, the soon-to-be parents will be celebrating their second anniversary next year in January.

One of the comments read, “Congratulations Prince and PAI!! So happy for the both of you." Another individual added, “Congratulations, you’re the perfect couple." The sweetest comment came from a user who wrote, “What a wonderful photo! I was so moved from so far away! Congratulations on this important step in your lives. May God bless you more and more! And please don’t skimp on the photos… We want to see you with all the beauty and grace that only you two possess."

Who Is Prince Abdul Mateen Of Brunei

Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei is the tenth child and fourth son of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and his former wife, Mariam Abdul Aziz. The 33-year-old royal is sixth in line to the succession of the oil-rich Southeast Asian nation.

In January 2024, Prince Mateen got married to his longtime friend Anisha Rosnah in a 10-day royal wedding celebration that captured global attention. Though Anisha was a commoner before her marriage, she comes from a well-respected family. Her grandfather, Pehin Dato Isa, served as an advisor to the Sultan and was a key government figure during the 1960s and 1970s. Her brother, Danial Deen Isa-Kalebic, also shares a close friendship with the prince.

The groom’s father, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, is the world’s longest-reigning monarch and belongs to a dynasty that has ruled Brunei for more than 600 years. The Bruneian royal family is also counted among the richest in the world, as reported by PEOPLE.
