Mandya: A 22-year-old student allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Malavalli town, reportedly distressed over her performance in her final-year BSc examinations.The deceased has been identified as Shwetha, daughter of Shantharaju, a resident of Kote Street in Malavalli.
According to police, Shwetha was pursuing her final-year BSc at a college in Mysuru.
On Tuesday, she visited her college to collect and verify her marks card.Family members said she was deeply disappointed after finding that her scores were lower than expected. When no other family members were present at home, she allegedly ended her life, police said.Police added that a note, believed to have been written by Shwetha, was found at the house. In the note, she reportedly stated that no one should be held responsible for her decision and expressed regret over not achieving the marks she had hoped for. She also sought forgiveness from her parents.Following the incident, Shantharaju lodged a complaint at the Malavalli Town police station. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
