BSF celebrates International Yoga Day 2026 along the India-Pakistan Border in Rajasthan

JAISALMER: On the occasion of International Yoga Day 2026, the Border Security Force (BSF), Rajasthan Frontier, organized grand yoga sessions on Sunday at various border outposts (BOPs) along the India-Pakistan International Border in Rajasthan.

Under the guidance of Rajasthan Frontier Inspector General M.L. Garg, BSF personnel participated in yoga exercises and were sensitized to the importance of yoga in daily life.The event was organized in line with the International Yoga Day 2026 theme, “Yoga for Healthy Aging.” BSF officers, jawans, and women personnel enthusiastically participated in the programme. The sessions included Surya Namaskar, Anulom-Vilom, Kapalbhati, and several other yoga postures and breathing exercises.According to official sources, International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal along the international border adjoining Jaisalmer. Under the directions of DIG Jatinder Singh Binjhi (BSF Jaisalmer Sector North) and DIG M.L. Negi (BSF Jaisalmer Sector South), officers, jawans, and women personnel took part in collective yoga sessions, reflecting their commitment to health, wellness, and overall well-being.

As part of the celebrations, a special yoga camp was organized on the shifting sand dunes near the international border under the leadership of Commandant Vipin Nayak. BSF personnel performed various yoga practices, asanas, and pranayama exercises amidst the scenic desert landscape. The sight of soldiers practicing yoga on the sandy terrain of the India-Pakistan border presented a unique and inspiring spectacle.Addressing the participants, officials emphasized the importance of maintaining regular yoga practice as part of daily life. They highlighted the role of yoga in ensuring the physical fitness, mental strength, and intellectual development of troops deployed in the challenging conditions of the Thar Desert. It was noted that regular yoga helps personnel remain healthy, focused, energetic, and mentally resilient while serving in difficult border areas.The programme also focused on promoting physical energy, mental toughness, emotional balance, and overall health and well-being across all age groups. Participants practiced the Common Yoga Protocol under expert guidance, demonstrating yoga’s vital role in enhancing physical fitness, concentration, inner balance, and mental stability.The collective yoga sessions reinforced the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and highlighted yoga as a powerful tool for personal as well as community well-being.

Through various activities, the message was conveyed that yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise but a way of life that symbolizes strength, balance, confidence, and self-discipline.The occasion also celebrated India’s ancient wisdom and rich cultural heritage while reiterating yoga’s universal message of harmony between the mind, body, and soul.During the session, participants were encouraged to incorporate yoga into their daily routines to improve physical and mental health, prevent diseases, and achieve greater balance and resilience in life.Under the guidance of yoga instructors, participants practiced Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Ardha Chakrasana, Bhadrasana, Vajrasana, Bhujangasana, Vakrasana, Makarasana, Setubandhasana, Shalabhasana, along with Kapalbhati, Anulom-Vilom, and Bhramari Pranayama. The participants enthusiastically pledged to continue regular yoga practice as an integral part of their lives.
