BSF Punjab Frontier apprehended a Pakistani national after he crossed the International Border near Jalalabad, Ferozepur.

Border Security Force (BSF) troops have foiled an infiltration attempt and apprehended a Pakistani national near the International Border in Ferozepur, according to an official statement.
The BSF Punjab Frontier, in a post on X, said that it noticed suspicious movement along the border, after which the individual who crossed into Indian territory near Jalalabad was apprehended.
According to the BSF, the intruder, identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed, a resident of Parwal village in Shakargarh district, Pakistan, was intercepted by personnel of the 160 battalion near a border outpost after being spotted moving suspiciously.

“Displaying utmost alertness and vigilance, #BSF troops apprehended a Pakistani intruder, who had illegally crossed the India-Pakistan International Border near Jalalabad, Ferozepur. The intruder was identified as a resident of Narowal Tehsil, Distt. Shakargarh in Pakistan and after initial questioning, he has been handed over to Lakha Ke Behram Police Station for further legal proceedings," the BSF said in a post on X.
After initial questioning and verification, the apprehended person was handed over to the Lakha Ke Behram Police Station for further legal action and investigation into the circumstances surrounding the intrusion.
The BSF further assured its unwavering commitment to national security and its round-the-clock vigilance in protecting the country’s borders from any cross-border threats or illegal activities.
Earlier in September, a Pakistani intruder was arrested along the International Border in RS Pura sector in Jammu. The intruder, Siraj Khan from Sargodha in Punjab province of Pakistan, was noticed by BSF troops manning the Octroi outpost.
The troops fired a few rounds after challenging the intruder, who was subsequently arrested near the border fence. Some Pakistani currency notes were recovered from him.
Before that, in May, a Pakistani national, reportedly a 65-year-old man from Lahore, was held along the border in Amritsar.
