BTS’ reunion no longer seems like a far-fetched dream for ARMYs as 6 out of 7 members have officially completed their military service. Yesterday, members V and RM were officially released from their service, and today, Jimin and Jungkook officially marked their last day in service and were discharged.
During their discharge ceremony in Yeonchan, both Jimin and Jungkook shared their feelings with fans and talked about their experience in the military.
Jimin shares heartfelt messages with fans after the official salute
As the two members of BTS were discharged officially, they served their final bows and salutes as officers in service. Jimin also managed to share a sweet and heartfelt message with ARMYs who were present at the centre to receive them.Videos of the event were shared by Dispatch, where Jimin can be seen thanking fans for waiting for all of the members for a long time and commending their patience during this time.
He stated during his speech, “Thank you so much for coming all this way to see us. And to ARMY, thank you for waiting for such a long time—from the pandemic through to our military service."Jimin also stated that "We’ll show you better things from now on," as he talked about imagining what all he would be able to do after his discharge and how all that can become a reality for him and his fellow members. While talking about serving in the army along with Jungkook in the buddy system, Jimin cited that the experience was something he had never felt before and that “it was not easy” as well.
Jimin talks about all the bonds he made
The idol also shared about all the bonds and friendships that he managed to make during his 18-month-long stint in the army. He shared that a lot of hardships during their training, as well as all the events that they used to do together, such as having meals, all helped everyone in making “lifelong bonds”.He completed his message by telling everyone to consider what a soldier goes through to protect the nation. He stated, "If you see a soldier on the street, please consider offering a warm word—it would mean so much."
Welcome event planned for BTS reunion
BTS’ management agency has been preparing heavily for the group’s return from military service. On June 9, fans in Seoul shared photos and videos of the company’s official building with the banner ‘WE ARE BACK’ dedicated to the group’s return. 6 out of 7 members have officially returned to civilian life. Suga will be discharged in a few days, by June 21, after which the group members will finally be able to reunite as 7.
