BTS have officially reunited! Although it has been a while since all the members were finally discharged from the military, fans have just received the much-needed confirmation via a live stream session with all seven members.
BTS surprises fans with live stream
On July 1, BTS took to a popular fan forum website and started a livestream with all of the members on screen sitting around a couch. This is the first live stream event that the idols have held together since September 22, only a few months before Jin officially started his military service. The live stream came as a surprise to most fans, as the notification for the live stream popped up with no warning. All seven members of the group were gathered around a couch and shared anecdotes from their time in the military and how everything has been since their return to civilian life.Members RM and Jimin even talked about how things have been feeling weird ever since coming back, ‘like a vacation’, the leader of the group mentioned, to which all of the remaining members made fun of him.
New BTS album launch
The live stream was not the only thing that shocked fans! BTS casually ended up confirming that the group will be releasing new music by next year! The news was also officially confirmed later, as per reports from Variety as well.
Fans should mark their calendars for spring 2026, as a new album and music have officially been confirmed by the group’s management agency. While sharing the news with the fans, the group issued a statement in the live stream saying, “Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas. We’re approaching the album with the same mindset we had when we first started.”It was also shared that the members will begin creating and working on new music by August, as they are planning on travelling to the US. While no official date was announced by the group members or by their management agency, they even ended up confirming that they’re simultaneously working together to prepare for a massive world tour as well.
Fans react
As soon as the live stream started, fans started pouring in their reactions online about OT7 finally reuniting.
One fan commented, “I'm torn between the fact that it's finally OT7 live again after a long time and the fact that they're working on group music already and back to their roots. Like, I'm processing one by one; it's overwhelming (positive) (lovingly and wholeheartedly).”Another fan expressed their excitement by saying, “BTS are definitely trying something new for their comeback album and will be more hands-on in it than ever.”
Live album on the way
The group are all set to release their first-ever live album for their previous tour, ‘Permission to Dance On Stage’. The tour managed to be a huge success, garnered over 4 million people in attendance and was held both online and offline, as per the COVID-19 restrictions during 2021 to 2022. The live album will feature 22 songs in total, as well as behind-the-scenes content, interviews, and live performance recordings.
The album will drop on July 18, while the pre-orders for the album have already started.
