Shane Buechele shines in Buffalo Bills preseason win over Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Buechele came in and played well in place of all-league QB Josh Allen while he got a breather. It was obvious after the first series that Buechele was fully in control of the offense, he was precise throwing the football and he could maintain his composure while under duress. "He moved the ball down the field, scored points, controlled clock," Bills head coach Sean McDermott said of Buechele's ability to control the game. To a large extent, the Bills were successful because Buechele could handle pressure and make the plays required.
Tyrell Shavers makes one-handed touchdown catch against Buccaneers defence
Wide receiver Tyrell Shavers, at 6'4", had a major impact with a great one-handed touchdown grab. Catching the ball in the end zone demonstrated Shaver's size and speed to be a great asset for the team.
Naturally, being a bigger body, I had to be more and then play one way or the other; Shavers mused the drama. His play brightened the game and increased his chances of making the 53-man roster.
Elijah Young delivers strong debut for Buffalo Bills before roster cuts
Signed by the Bills only days before the contest, Elijah Young sprinted back and immediately influenced events. Leading the team, he ran for 53 running yards on 16 carries and 40 receiving yards on three catches. Young was exceptional in terms of agility and performance, but because of roster constraints the Bills cut him on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
