Beau Greaves, take a bow.
Beau ‘n Arrow, as she is affectionately known, hit the mark when it mattered most — and made darts history along the way, on Monday.
Greaves is now the first woman to win a PDC ranking title, after securing the same with an 8-7 victory over Michael Smith in the Players Championship 11 final in Milton Keynes.
The 22-year-old sealed the win with a clinical 142 checkout, capping a run that included victories over three former world champions.
Beau’s Path To History
Greaves’ path to the title was steady before it turned standout. She opened with 6–4 wins over Aden Kirk and Thomas Lovely, followed by a 6–2 result against Jeffrey Sparidaans.
A tighter contest came against Karel Sedlacek, but she edged through to build momentum heading into the latter rounds.
‘Never Thought I’d Win One Of These’
Greaves arrived with a 114-match winning streak in the PDC Women’s Series and had already become the first woman to hit a nine-dart finish on the PDC ProTour.
The semi-final proved pivotal. She beat two-time world champion Gary Anderson 7–1, a result she admitted caught her off guard.
“I know I’ve got the ability and the talent, but I’ve beaten Gary Anderson and I couldn’t believe it! Beating Michael. Beating players that I watched growing up," she said.
“It’s amazing, and I feel really proud of myself."
The field in Milton Keynes did not include world champion Luke Littler, while big names like Michael van Gerwen, Jonny Clayton, Gerwyn Price and Nathan Aspinall were also absent. But that does not take away from the greatness she’s achieved, in the slightest.
There are 34 Players Championship events across the season, with the finals scheduled in Minehead from 26–30 November, featuring the top 64 players on the order of merit.
Greaves now sits fifth in that ranking after Monday’s win.
