Burglars strike at electronics store in Khammam, decamp with premium mobile phones

Burglars struck at an electronics store near the Zilla Parishad office in Khammam in the small hours of Thursday and decamped with dozens of mobile phones including a few premium smartphones.

According to sources, three masked miscreants gained entry into the electronics showroom by cutting open the shutter locks even as their accomplice waited outside the store in a car. The burglars reportedly made away with expensive mobile phones kept on the display shelves.

Sources added that the security apparatus at the store triggered an alarm, sending a message to the staff concerned at its head office. Alerted by the message, the local staff immediately rushed to the store and tried to chase the burglars, but in vain.

The burglars sped away in their car towards Wyra, sources added.

The Clues Team was pressed into service to collect fingerprints and other evidence from the crime scene. Two police teams were deployed to trace the burglars.
