Buxar launches dolphin mascot to promote voter awareness

Buxar: Be like a dolphin — spread awareness about voting and strengthen democracy, said district election officer-cum-district magistrate Bidyanand Singh and deputy development commissioner Aakash Chaudhary during unveiling of Buxar’s new poll mascot “dolphin” and the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) logo on Wednesday.The dolphin, placed at the centre of the campaign, symbolises intelligence, awareness, and cleanliness.Officials said just as the Ganga dolphin represents clean water, an informed voter represents a strong and clean democracy.The campaign’s goal is to inspire voters, especially youth, women and first-timers, to treat voting as a celebration of democracy. “Every voter in Buxar should become like a dolphin — aware, alert and responsible,” said the DM.The event was attended by officials from various departments, students and youth among others.
