Only BJP can steer Punjab towards development, says Haryana CM in Punjab

CHANDIGARH: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini, while addressing a massive public gathering at Chabhal Kalan in Tarn Taran district (Punjab), said that the people of Punjab are disillusioned with the misrule of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and now seek development and good governance.

He said that this is not an ordinary election, but one that will shape the future of Punjab for years to come. He asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its candidate Harjit Singh Sandhu represent the path to real change. Prior to the rally, chief minister Saini paid obeisance at Gurdwara Bir Baba Budha Sahib, praying for the progress of both the nation and the state. Launching a sharp attack on both the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party, Nayab Singh Saini said that both parties pushed Punjab backward.

During the Congress regime, corruption, bribery, and drug abuse eroded Punjab’s foundations. The Aam Aadmi Party, on the other hand, only misled people with false promises of change.

He accused former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal of breaking his promise not to align with the Congress, saying, “For the sake of power, Kejriwal compromised with both the Congress and corruption.” The chief minister further said that when devastating floods hit Punjab, both Kejriwal and Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann were missing from action.

One went to Delhi and the other was hospitalised. Meanwhile, the Haryana govt instructed its officials to extend all possible help to the flood-affected areas of Punjab. He added that despite being given a historic mandate 3 years ago, the Aam Aadmi Party betrayed public trust. He said that the BJP govt in Haryana, now serving its third consecutive term, fulfilled most of its promises. While AAP promoted corruption, the BJP in Haryana brought visible improvement in the lives of farmers, youth, and women. Nayab Singh Saini also informed that the Haryana govt took a major decision for the families who lost their loved ones in the 1984 riots. The state cabinet decided to provide govt jobs to one member of each such family. He informed that events commemorating the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji began on November 1 and will continue until November 25, culminating with a grand ceremony in Kurukshetra.

He added that the Prime Minister has been invited to grace the concluding event. Prominent leaders including Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar, BJP candidate Harjit Singh Sandhu, BJP general secretary Rakesh Rathore, and Anil Sareen, along with several senior party leaders, were present on the occasion.
