A road accident near Rajasthan’s Jodhpur on the Phalodi-Dechu highway early Wednesday left a camel trapped inside a car for several hours after a head-on collision.

According to officials, both the driver, identified as Ramsingh, a resident of Jodhpur, and the animal were injured in the incident.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when a stray camel suddenly appeared on the road, leaving the driver with no time to react.

The vehicle crashed directly into the animal, severely damaging its bonnet, bumper, and windshield.

A video circulating online shows the camel’s head and upper body protruding through the car’s shattered windshield as it struggled to free itself from the wreckage.

The force of the impact broke the vehicle’s roof and front glass, trapping the animal inside.

Locals quickly arrived at the scene, rescuing the injured driver and administering first aid before he was rushed to Jodhpur for treatment. Reports indicate that Ramsingh suffered serious injuries.

The camel remained stuck for nearly two hours before local authorities and residents managed to free it using a JCB machine to cut open parts of the vehicle.

The animal escaped without major injuries and fled the spot soon after being released.
