Cash-for-job scam: Pooja Naik questioned by Bicholim police

Bicholim: Pooja Naik, an accused in the job scam case, was called to Bicholim police station for interrogation on Monday. A day earlier, she was questioned by crime branch after she had made public statements last week alleging that an IAS officer, a minister, and PWD engineer were involved in the job scam.On Monday, speaking to mediapersons, Pooja Naik said that she had provided the police with the same two names that she had given earlier. Naik said she was made to collect money from many job seekers on the promise that they would be recruited in govt, but no action was taken to provide them jobs after receiving the money.Naik said she pursued the matter with the people who took the money on several occasions, but they failed to return the money received as bribes to provide jobs.Naik had earlier given an ultimatum to the alleged main accused to return the money to the job seekers and had threatened to expose them otherwise.After arriving at Bicholim police station on Monday at about 11.30am, she was interrogated for half an hour. However, after the interrogation, police let her out through the back door.She was interrogated by police inspector Sanjit Kandolkar, who was holding additional charge of Bicholim police station.
