Caught on CCTV: Domestic help assaults pet dog, slams it on floor in Jaipur

A case has been lodged against a house help for assaulting a pet dog in Jaipur in the absence of its owners. The disturbing incident was caught on CCTV and a video of it has gone viral.

The complaint was lodged by the pet owner, Sangeeta, a resident of the Vidyadhar Nagar area, after she checked the CCTV footage. The domestic help, Manju Kanwar, is absconding.

The footage shows Kanwar brutally assaulting the dog while alone at the residence. She is also seen beating the dog as it tries to flee. Seconds later, she is seen picking up the dog and slamming it into the ground.

A video of the incident was also posted on the Instagram page 'Street Dogs of Bombay', triggering outrage among animal lovers.

"We are taking the matter seriously. Teams have been deployed to locate the accused," a senior police official said.

The pet dog, named Sophie, is currently undergoing treatment.

Last month, another domestic servant was caught on camera brutally beating a pet dog inside an apartment lift in Mumbai. The video shows the person using a band that the dog was wearing to hit it. He is also seen kicking the dog.
