A toll booth employee was run over by a Tata Ace vehicle after he asked the driver to pay the toll fee at Visapur Toll Post in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra.
The incident occurred around 1 am when the Tata Ace, heading from Ballarshah towards Chandrapur, tried to skip the toll by crossing the lane without payment. When the toll employee attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver rammed into him instead of halting. The impact left the employee severely injured.
The victim, identified as 27-year-old Sanjay Arun Wandhare, was working as a computer operator at the Visapur toll post. He was immediately taken to a private hospital in the city, where he is currently admitted to the ICU in critical condition.
Following the incident, a complaint was filed at the Ballarpur police station. Dilip Kancharlawar, toll booth manager, confirmed that the process of registering a case is underway. "A complaint has been filed for an attempt to murder. The injured employee is being referred to Nagpur for better treatment," he said.
Ballarpur Station House Officer Shyam Gawhane said, "The procedure to register an FIR is in progress. The vehicle number has been traced, and the accused will be arrested soon."
