Officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday (October 31, 2025) visited the scene of the stampede that occurred during a TVK rally on September 27 at Velusamypuram on the outskirts of Karur.
The team, led by Praveen Kumar, Superintendent of Police, studied the topography of the area and the surrounding approach roads, including the spot where Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president Vijay addressed massive crowds from his caravan, his travel route from Velayutham Palayam (the entry point of Karur district from Namakkal) to Velusamypuram, and the shops, eateries, and hospital located at the stampede site.
