The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has formally introduced the Integrated Payment System (IPS) to streamline payments related to the Class 12 practical examinations for the 2024–25 academic year. This move is aimed at eliminating procedural delays and ensuring accountability in the disbursal of remuneration to examiners, observers, and other functionaries engaged in the conduct of practical exams.
Principals made accountable
Schools have been directed to immediately update and finalise the details of exam functionaries on the IPS portal. The Board has underscored that accuracy in entering bank account details is non-negotiable, warning that any erroneous entries could lead to payments being credited to unintended recipients. In such cases, the onus of recovery would rest solely on the principal of the concerned institution. Principals have been asked to personally vet and verify all submissions before finalising entries.
Safeguards for special needs students
Parallel to this, CBSE has also launched a dedicated portal for children with special needs (CWSN) to ensure that examination relaxations and exemptions reach eligible students without bureaucratic hurdles. Schools will be required to upload relevant documents and details of CWSN students on the portal between September 9 and 22, 2025. The Board has positioned this initiative as a proactive step to ensure inclusivity and fairness in the conduct of national-level examinations.
A push for institutional discipline
The IPS rollout reflects CBSE’s intent to enforce institutional responsibility and reduce administrative lapses that often mar the examination process. The dual emphasis—digital accuracy in payments and dedicated facilitation for CWSN students—signals a more systematic, tech-driven approach to examination governance. With these reforms, CBSE is not only tightening procedural compliance but also underlining its accountability mechanism, ensuring that both staff remuneration and student concessions are handled with transparency and precision.Candidates can click on the link provided here to download the official notice related to CBSE exams 2026.
