CBSE Re-Evaluation Portal Faces 'Barrage Of Cyberattacks': '1.5 Million Hits In 2 Months'

Over 16,000 students applied for CBSE re-evaluation within hours of the portal's launch, even as the portal faced a "barrage of cyberattacks."

The CBSE revaluation portal on Tuesday faced a “barrage of cyberattacks" as thousands of students submitted their applications amid the controversy over the On-Screen Marking (OSM) process used to evaluate Class 12 students.

In its latest update on X, the CBSE informed that the portal is currently supporting over 8,000 concurrent users. More than 16,000 students successfully completed their submissions for re-evaluation as of 3 pm today.

“While thousands of students accessed the CBSE re-evaluation portal today, malicious actors attempted to disrupt services through a barrage of cyberattacks. Most recent being a denial of service attack attempt causing 1.5 million hits on the portal within a matter of 2 minutes and more than 1 lakh attempts of unauthorised file access," it said.

The board assured that the platform has been refined further after student feedback, including extending session time limits to make the process more convenient and seamless.
