CBSE starts releasing re-eval results

NEW DELHI: CBSE on Sunday began releasing the Class XII verification and re-evaluation outcomes, declaring results for around 87% of the candidates who had sought a review of their evaluated answer books.Revised marksheets of candidates whose scores have changed are being made available through DigiLocker. The remaining outcomes will be released in phases as applications are processed, CBSE said, adding that the exercise would be completed soon.Candidates who sought verification of issues in their scanned answer books but received a "no change" decision will be allowed to inspect the scripts at respective CBSE regional offices.

The inspection schedule will be announced separately. The review follows a controversy over OSM, introduced for Class XII this year in place of physical evaluation. After the May 13 results, students reported blurred or cropped scans, missing pages and supplementary sheets, answer-book mix-ups and answers allegedly left unmarked. Unexpectedly low scores in several subjects added to concerns over the new system.

Nearly 98.66 lakh answer books were digitally processed. Of these, 68,018 had to be rescanned because of image-quality problems, while 13,583 were ultimately evaluated manually after repeated scans failed to produce readable copies, according to official figures.CBSE had allowed candidates to obtain scanned answer books from May 19 to 25 and seek verification or re-evaluation from June 2 to 7. It said the post-result platform was supervised by technical experts from Digital India Corporation, IIT Kanpur and IIT Madras to protect it against unauthorised access.
