CESC’s helpline for Kodagu 

A dedicated toll-free number 1800-599-0061 has been provided for Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation’s (CESC) Madikeri division to register and resolve customer complaints.

A press statement noted that a total of 1,442 electric poles, 11 transformers, and more than 13 km of electricity wires were damaged due to heavy rains and strong winds in Kodagu district.

Already, 1,091 electric poles and nine transformers have been repaired so far. On an average, 100 electric poles are being replaced every day.

As many as 231 personnel from the CESC’s Madikeri division, 52 from other divisions, 75 contract staff, and 124 electricity contractors had been deployed to expedite the repair work and restore electricity network.

Incessant rains and strong winds over the last ten days have delayed the repair works. They were causing repeated damage to the network, leading to frequent power disruptions. Since the officials were engaged in handling restoration works, the toll-free number has been provided for resolving the complaints.
