A massive wild elephant created chaos near a toll plaza on the Dehradun-Haridwar highway today, attacking vehicles waiting to pass through the busy stretch.

A viral video on social media showed the elephant causing chaos on the road as it tried to pass through the road to reach the other side.

The elephant was seen using its trunk to severely damage a vehicle waiting in the toll lane, but the driver managed to escape unharmed by speeding away quickly.

According to the officials, elephants have been spotted near the toll plaza almost every day, posing a safety risk.

The incident has sparked anger and fear among the locals, with many calling for urgent action.

Earlier, on a busy road in Odisha’s Sundargarh district, a wild elephant was seen stopping several trucks in search of food. The drivers and tourists nearby must have been scared at first to see such a large animal so close.

But the elephant calmly went towards one of the trucks, took a bag from the driver’s seat, sniffed it with its trunk and tried to find something to eat.

According to NDTV reports, the incident took place on the Sagargarh-Mandijoda road in the Koida Bankhand area of Sundargarh district. The elephant is believed to have been separated from its group and went towards the road, where many trucks were travelling, transporting aluminium.

When drivers spotted the elephant standing in the middle of the road, they stopped their vehicles and waited. The elephant, showing no signs of aggression, remained in front of them, seemingly in search of food.
