Tyler James Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk, had no criminal history before his arrest on Friday. Robinson, from Washington, Utah, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily harm, and obstruction of justice, according to a probable cause statement released Friday.

The probable cause statement lists his address as his parents’ six-bedroom home, where they run a granite countertop business. Strong academic backgroundBeyond the investigation, Robinson’s background shows a different picture. He had been an honour roll student in high school, scoring in the top percentile nationally on standardised tests. He briefly attended Utah State University on a scholarship before enrolling in an electrical apprenticeship programme at Dixie Technical College.
