The shocking discovery was made when the boy, while retrieving the ball, stepped into the abandoned property and spotted what appeared to be human remains

Police said the remains are believed to be of a middle-aged man who had been living alone in the house since 2015.
A boy chasing a lost cricket ball stumbled upon skeletal remains inside a locked, dilapidated house in Hyderabad’s Nampally market area on Monday. Police said the remains are believed to be of a middle-aged man who had been living alone in the house since 2015.
The shocking discovery was made when the boy, while retrieving the ball, stepped into the abandoned property and spotted what appeared to be human remains. He immediately informed nearby residents, who then alerted the police.
A team from the Habeebnagar Police Station arrived at the scene, broke open the locked door, and found the skeleton in the kitchen area of the house. Officers also recovered a switched-off mobile phone lying near the remains. When turned on, the device showed over 80 missed calls and a list of contacts, police said.
According to initial investigations, the deceased was a middle-aged, unmarried man who had reportedly been living alone in the house since 2015. No one had heard from him in recent years, and his death had gone unnoticed.
The man’s family members later informed the police that they had lost touch with him several years ago and assumed he had moved elsewhere. As he lived alone and had no dependents, no missing person’s complaint had been filed.
Police officials noted that it was difficult to determine exactly when or how the man died. “It was not clear when and how he died. The skeletal remains were sent for medical examination. It is looking like natural death, but the actual cause of death can be known based on the FSL (Forensic Science Lab) report," said a senior officer.
The skeletal remains have been sent for medical and forensic examination. A case of unnatural death has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
