Chembai Music Festival golden jubilee: seminar at Kalamandalam on October 16

As part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the Guruvayur Devaswom’s Chembai Music Festival, a special music seminar will be held at Kerala Kalamandalam’s Koothambalam on Thursday (October 16, 2025) from 10 a.m. onwards. The event, organised in collaboration with Kerala Kalamandalam, will bring together music students, enthusiasts, and professionals for a day of learning and discussion.

Registration will begin at 9.30 a.m., followed by the inaugural session at 10 a.m. Mallisseri Parameswaran Namboodiripad, member of the Guruvayur Devaswom managing committee, will preside over the function. B. Ananthakrishnan, Vice-Chancellor of Kerala Kalamandalam, will inaugurate the seminar. Sound engineer Saji R. will present a paper on “Emerging Techniques in Sound Recording,” offering insights into the evolving world of audio technology.

Music director Manu Ramesan will demonstrate live sound engineering techniques, giving participants hands-on exposure to contemporary practices in the field. Manikandan K., Assistant Professor, Department of Music, Kerala Kalamandalam, will moderate the sessions.
