Chhapra woman joins IAF logistics branch

Divyanshi Singh has become the first former National Defence Academy (NDA) woman cadet to be commissioned into the ground duty (logistics) branch of the IAF

Patna: From the narrow lanes of Chhapra to the proud ranks of the Indian Air Force (IAF), Flying Officer Divyanshi Singh’s journey stands as a powerful example of determination, opportunity and achievement.

She has become the first former National Defence Academy (NDA) woman cadet to be commissioned into the ground duty (logistics) branch of the IAF.Divyanshi was awarded the President’s Plaque by defence minister Rajnath Singh for securing first position among the ‘Ground Duty’ branches during the combined graduation parade at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal, on Saturday. She was among 37 women commissioned into the IAF on the day.Her father, a serving junior warrant officer in the IAF, inspired her to pursue a career in the armed forces. When the historic decision was taken to open the doors of the NDA to women, Divyanshi seized the opportunity and successfully cleared the entrance examination, setting her sights on joining the Air Force.During her training, she steadily distinguished herself through leadership, discipline and commitment. Her performance earned her the prestigious appointment of Cadet Quarter Master Sergeant, a position that reflected both her capabilities and the confidence she inspired among fellow cadets.Over three transformative years at the NDA, the young woman from Chhapra evolved into a confident, accomplished and service-ready officer.
