In a heart-warming incident, a family whose child had died of snake bite, rescued the snake and released it into the forest, in Kakamari village in Belagavi district of Karnataka.
On May 31, Amit Gurulinga Sindhur, 10, was bitten by a snake when he was sleeping at home. He was shifted to a hospital where he died.
The snake remained in the house for three days.
After completing the final rites of the boy, instead of killing the snake, the family decided to rescue the reptile.
They summoned a snake conservationist who trapped the animal in a bag. It was released in the forest near Telsang village in Athani taluk.
Duradundappa Kakamari and other village elders praised the kindness of the Sindhur family.
