Chinmayi Sripada responds to morphed obscene pic; Says 'Get rid of the shame'; Warns women about AI abuse

Singer Chinmayi Sripada issued a stark warning about online harassment and AI deepfakes, detailing death threats against her children and a morphed nude image incident. She urged women to shed shame and highlighted AI's use in child exploitation, advising parents to be vigilant in marriage arrangements. Sripada also supported Kerala's appeal in the Dileep acquittal case.

Singer and voice actress Chinmayi Sripada has issued a stern warning to women and parents regarding the rising threats of online harassment and AI deepfakes. Taking to her official Twitter handle, Chinmayi described the shocking abuse she has endured over the past few weeks.

She revealed, “Today, ever since actually, I have been abused.

My children have been given death threats. I have filed a police complaint with Charan Reddy, Lohith Reddy and a few others who were on that Twitter spaces who said women, the kind of women that they don't like shouldn't ever have children and if those women by chance have children, those children must die immediately.”She explained that the abuse included men applauding such comments online, with no one condemning the behaviour initially.

Later, the perpetrators issued a “slipshod, sorry, random, fake apology.” Chinmayi emphasized that these fan wars and politically motivated attacks are some of the most toxic behaviours she has witnessed on social media over the years.

Warning about AI, deepfakes, and online morphed images

Chinmayi highlighted the growing threat of technology being misused to target women. She recounted an incident where a morphed nude photograph of her was circulated online, tagging the police immediately.

She urged, “I would only urge women to not be scared of anybody morphing these photographs and videos… The only way for women to manage this is to get rid of the shame. It’s not your shame. Tell your family nothing to be afraid of.

Chinmayi on people using AI to create child porn

Chinmayi warned that AI deepfakes could be used more widely in the future, including in child exploitation. She said, “In child pornographic rings, it's very, very, very common. AI is used to create child porn, there are men who watch and consume and buy this content, and they could be in your own families.

Open your eyes, be aware of this and safeguard our children and our society.”Chinmayi also urged parents to remain vigilant and not blindly trust anyone offering financial or social incentives in marriage arrangements, stating, “Don't get your daughter married to any dipshit that you find on the road just because they are asking for a certain amount of dowry or if he's employed in Australia or US or London.”

Chinmayi on Dileep’s acquittal

In another news, Chinmayi Sripada recently welcomed the Kerala government’s decision to appeal the acquittal of actor Dileep in the actress assault case. She tweeted, “This is where Kerala is the rockstar. Will always be. Instead of platforming rapists and dancing with them or letting them out on bail to celebrate birthdays. #avalkoppam.”
