Patna: Union minister and LJP (RV) chief Chirag Paswan on Monday said seat sharing in the NDA will be decided soon but his party will not compromise with self-respect.Talking to reporters in Patna, Chirag said: “Seat allocation will take place during Navaratra.
There will be no compromise on respectable number of seats. We will only accept alliances on respectable seats.
Samman se samjhauta kar ke kaun kis gathbandhan mein raha hai.”BJP state president Dilip Kumar Jaiswal told a news portal on Monday that a decision on NDA seat-sharing will be made after Oct 3 and before election is announced next month. “The state leadership will hold meetings with around 20 prominent leaders from every district on Sept 24 and 25 to discuss the probable names in every constituency,” he said.LJP(RV) sources said Chirag wants at least 43 of the total 243 seats to contest and he stakes his claim on the 100% strike rate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, winning all the five seats his party contested in Bihar. He expressed hope that everything will be fine as “it’s the beginning of auspicious times. Navaratra begins today”.Referring to his decision to go solo in the 2020 assembly elections, Chirag said except him, neither RJD nor Congress had the guts to contest alone.
Commenting on the upcoming Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting to be held in Patna on Sept 24, Chirag said it is a ploy to show supremacy within the INDIA bloc.“I can’t remember when it happened last time in Patna. But somewhere it is the pressure politics again, under which, the LoP in Bihar (Tejashwi Prasad Yadav) says he will fight on 243 seats. Rahul Gandhi held a ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar, but he didn’t name Tejashwi as the CM face. CWC means, all the important leaders would be here. It is a fight for supremacy. The way Congress was told about strike rate in the last election, somewhere they are trying to answer it. But we are not bothered and our focus is on NDA,” he said.
