The yet-untitled project, which was officially announced on the auspicious occasion of Vinayaka Chavithi 2025.

Karthi to appear in a hilarious action comedy flick

According to reports from OTT Play, Karthi will be playing a full-fledged role in this film — a hilarious action-comedy designed to entertain audiences across languages. This will also mark Karthi’s long-awaited foray into straight Telugu cinema, something the actor had hinted at several years ago.In a 2018 interview with TNM, Karthi revealed that he had been receiving “many good offers” from Telugu filmmakers but hadn’t found the right time to take one up. Now, with this mega project alongside Chiranjeevi, it seems that moment has finally arrived.

Bobby Kolli and Chiranjeevi reunite

Director Bobby Kolli, who earlier delivered the blockbuster 'Waltair Veerayya' with Chiranjeevi, reunites with the megastar for this new venture. The duo’s previous outing was celebrated for its mix of mass action and humour — a tone Bobby is expected to revisit with a fresh twist this time.

The film will once again be produced under the same successful banner that backed 'Waltair Veerayya', promising high production values and a strong theatrical experience. The shoot is scheduled to commence in February 2026, following Chiranjeevi’s ongoing project Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu which is directed by Anil Ravipudi and slated for release on January 12, 2025.While the reports of Karthi’s inclusion have set social media abuzz, fans are eagerly awaiting an official announcement from the makers.
