Chittoor MP lauds CM’s handling of Cyclone Montha

Chittoor MP Daggumalla Prasad Rao on Thursday (October 30) said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s timely decisions helped the State minimise the impact of Cyclone Montha. In a press release, the MP said the Chief Minister’s early preparedness measures, including the evacuation of vulnerable families and continuous monitoring of the situation, helped prevent major loss of life.

He noted that the government announced ₹3,000 as assistance to each family in relief camps and the distribution of essentials such as rice, pulses, oil, and vegetables. The CM also announced ₹5 lakh ex gratia to families of victims and ordered assessment of crop damage on 87,000 hectares.

The MP added that the Chief Minister conducted an aerial survey of the affected areas and directed officials to continue relief and rehabilitation efforts. He appreciated local MLAs and officials in the Chittoor parliamentary segment for their coordination during the cyclone.
