Personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here foiled a major smuggling attempt, seizing undeclared electronic goods worth approximately ₹1.4 crore from two international passengers who had arrived from Abu Dhabi.

The officials noticed the duo behaving suspiciously near the arrival area and subjected their baggage to screening through the X-BIS machine at the domestic arrival exit gate. The scan revealed a large quantity of undeclared, high-value electronic items, including premium smartphones, laptops, accessories and several drones that are banned under import regulations.

When questioned, the passengers failed to produce valid purchase receipts or import clearance documents for the recovered goods. They were subsequently detained, and both the seized items and the passengers were handed over to Customs officials for further investigation and necessary legal action.

According to the RGIA police, the seized items include 65 Iphone 17 Pro Max, eightDrone DJI Air 3, four Video Game (Nintendo Switch 2), two laptops, 20 Apple watches and a Google Pixel watch.
